The Beginning

Every great brand starts somewhere. For Smokin Clays Collective, it started with a question from my twins.

About five years ago, when they were 12, they came home and asked if they could shoot trap. I had no idea our county even had a youth trap team. But once I showed up to those first events, I was blown away — the number of kids involved in the shooting sports was something I never expected. I knew a few schools in Ohio had teams through the Cardinal Shooting Center, but seeing it firsthand? That changed everything.

Over the years, as I spent more time around the sport, one thing kept standing out — the apparel was mostly basic. Sure, some of the custom stuff was cool, but nothing really captured the energy and pride of this community the way it deserved.

That thought stuck with me. By 2025, I started sketching out ideas, working through designs, and thinking seriously about what a brand built for this community could look like. Then in 2026, I finally pulled the trigger — and Smokin Clays Collective was born.

This is a brand built by someone who's been in the stands, on the range, and in the community. Every piece we design is bold, range-ready, and made for people who are serious about the sport — from the kids just getting started to the seasoned competitors who've been breaking clays for years.
